JESSICA LAURÉN

Jessica Laurén is a Swedish animation director at the studio FilmTecknarna in Stockholm. She just finnished a major advertising US campaign inlcuding TV commercials, webisodes and comic strips, and is currently directing a TV-series for children named 'Who' based on the Swedish books by the same name.

Laurén started her career in animation tracing and painting cells, and has worked for several animation companies in Stockholm as an animator, designer, storyboard artist, supervisor etc. Her directoral debut was the short film 'Water of the Sun', made during her parental leave, animated to music written and performed by herself, a film she was awarded the Filmens Dags Scholarship at Gothenburg Film Festival.

Her next directoral project was 'In Kids Heads' produced at FilmTecknarna, a ten episode TV-series drawn and written by her own daughters. Recent works by Laurén includes the commercial 'Room Service' for Kanal 5, the short film 'Max Muxo' for Cartoon Network and a music video for the Swedish band Eskju Divine.

Jessica Laurén is part of this years jury at Fredrikstad Animation Festival.
