STYLE & DESIGN IN ANIMATION

Our seminar for professionals this year have a special focus on design and style in animation. Speakers are Pixars leading production designer Ralph Eggleston, director of Metropia, Tarik Saleh from the Swedish company Atmo, and creative director and director, Philip Hunt from the British company Studio AKA.

Programme:

10.00 – 12.00 Ralph Eggleston on production design in Pixar

Ralph Eggleston will give a general overview of production design in film. He will also speak about his experiences from his work as production designer, art director and director at Pixar studios, and present clips and artwork from his long carrier.

12.00 - 13.00 Pause

13.00 – 14.45 Tarik Saleh presents Metropia

After 4 years of hard work the Swedish animated feature Metropia premiered at the Venice International Film Festival earlier this autumn. In the design process the filmmakers have invented new techniques, and the film and the making of it will be presented by designer and director Tarik Saleh.

14.45 – 15.00 Pause

15.00 – 17.00 Philip Hunt presents Studio AKA

Annecy-winner Philip Hunt from the renowned british company Studio AKA, will give a general overview of their work and approach to production design, showing the pitch and preproduction work they create in relation to a series of key studio projects, both commercials and films.
