LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD TO INNI KARINE MELBYE

At the opening of the festival 11th of November 2009 Inni Karine Melbye was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for her lifelong contribution to animation.

The award was presented by french animator and director Miche Ocelot, who had flown to Fredrikstad solely to surprise and give the award to his former coleague ad collaborator.

Making of 'Lost and Found'

On Saturday November 14th, Philip Hunt takes us behind the "scenes" in a making of-presentation on one of his latest works, 'Lost and Found'. This critically acclaimed film, based on Oliver Jeffers awardwinning childrens book of the same name, is about a boy who finds a penguin on his doorstep. Allthough unsure what to do at first, the little boy becomes determined to help the penguin find his way back home ...

'Lost and Found' won the Annecy Crystal award for best TV Special. After the presentation the film will be screened for the audience.

Pixar star to FAF ´09

Fredrikstad Animation festival is honored to present Pixar's leading production designer Ralph Eggleston as one of the key speakers at this year's seminar. Eggelston has contributed on legendary features like Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Up. His Pixar-short, For the Birds gave him an Oscar in 2001. 



Additional speakers at the seminar will be Annecy winner and creative director at Studio AKA, Philip Hunt and the director of upcoming feature Metropia, Tarik Saleh form the Swedish company Atmo. The seminar will have a special focus on design in animation. Don´t miss it!
