ANOBA-AWARD 2009

This year Ekjö Animation Festival had the honor of handing out the ANOBA-Award. Out of 5 nominated films the jury selected Life Without Gabriella Ferri  by Priit Pärn as winner of this years Award. The film was described as unique in it's storytelling, with excellent animation, it shows a fondness for the truly absurd, exploring themes like isolation, separation and alienation but also love and hope, and finding what might have been lost in the unexpected. 

Nominated films for the 2009 award were:

• Diary of Childhood, Antanas Skucas, 2009, Lithuania (nominated by Tindridis)
  
• The People and the Whale, Peter Larson, 2008, Sweden (nominated by Eksjö Animation Festival and FIA)
  
• Bloody Hands, Malakias, 2009, Finland (nominated by Animatricks)
  
• My Grandmother Beijing, Mats Grorud, 2008, Norway (nominated by Fredrikstad Animation Festival)
