Animationfestival
FAF ON TOUR
Fredrikstad Animation Festival is at the moment on tour to schools in and around Fredrikstad.

Children in anticipation in front of the screen which is 5m x 6m.

We talk about animation techniques, demonstrate how to make simple animation and screen a selection of animated shorts to children at elementary schools. Armed with a powerfull  projector and a portable screen of 5m x 6m we transform normal gymnasiums into dark, exhilarating movie theatres where the magic of animation unfolds. Festival director Trond Ola introduces the films and engages the pupils in talk and reflections on animation in general and the films we screen, while coordinator Magnus is dedicated projectionist and demonstrates with only some cardboard props a camera and a laptop, that anyone can easily animate a short film involving a barn, a cow and a spaceship.

Magnus runs the projector and animates live during the screenings.

The tour is in cooperation with the cultural education programme and Østfold Kulturproduksjon, and the festival will be visiting around 30 schools and screen animation for about 5000 schoolchildren.
